Where do you live?: Santa Cruz

Home Team: Dog Saphira (who I won at a silent auction for LLS) and Cat Lacy. Back east, my whole family is routing me on.

Hometown: North Brunswick, NJ

Motivation: The perspective I get from honorees’ stories and the looming question of “Can I really do this?”

Honoree(s): Every honoree I’ve met via past TNT experiences, as well as some family members and friends who have fought other types of cancers.

Favorite tri gadget(s): Probably my helmet — sense of security! I wish I could wear it during the swim!

Last three books read: Memory Keepers Daughter, Marley and Me, Harry Potter 7

Last three movies seen: Can’t even think of one! Just don’t have that kind of time! Although now that I have my bike trainer …

What person do you look up to the most and why? Probably my siblings: their decisions have influenced me my whole life.

Favorite local cheap-eats restaurant: Malabar/ Asian Rose, although they’re not so cheap anymore

Desert Island Five: Jeez - Truthfully, I’d be practical and therefore boring: clothes, food, water, waterproof matches….. and a fully charged cell phone?!?

What did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher
