Coaches Update: IronWeek #8
Thanks to all who took part in this weekend’s coached workouts. The Spinnerval was a solid workout and the coaches were impressed by all on Sunday for the first open water swim. The workouts were lots of fun, and a great way to kick off the holiday season. The holidays are a great time to relax and enjoy time with friends and family. Enjoy the season… take an extra day off… indulge in a little holiday eating. Just remember… all things in MODERATION.
You are still training for an Ironman. You can find some tips on healthy thanksgiving eating at http://www.healthcastle.com/holiday-eating-healthy-thanksgiving.shtml
No coached workouts this week, but as usual, there’s a captains’ spin at SB on Tuesday. Also, the captains are working on a weekend Open Water swim if there is enough interest. If you want to swim, please let them know.
Finally, as you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner, take a moment to reflect on this journey you’ve begun. Think about the funds you’re raising, the honorees that you’ll be helping, and the lives that you may save. As for me, I’m thankful that I have the health and strength to train for an Ironman, that I can train in such a beautiful part of the world, and that I can do so with such a great group of people. Thanks to each of you for taking this journey and for adding your strength to the fight against blood cancer.
You are creating hope, you are making a difference, you are saving lives. Thank you.
Have a safe and happy thanksgiving.
Your coaches,
Ann, Chris, Steve and Dan
