Have the time of your life, to save a life
If you’ve found this page, you might one of those people other people call “crazy.” We like to think of it as “driven,” “committed,” and “lucky.” Because, if you want to compete in the race of a lifetime — Ironman — we can get you there.
The Ironman triathlon is a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run. IronTeam 2008 training starts October 6, 2007, and ends with either Ironman USA, Lake Placid, NY (July 27, 2008) or Ironman Canada, Penticton, BC (August 24, 2008).
Sound like a lot? It is. Think you can’t do it? Think again. Since 1999, hundreds of athletes of all ability levels have joined the IronTeam, completed the training, and crossed the finish line at their Ironman race. You take the first step and join the Team, we’ll get you to the starting line … prepared to cross the finish line.
IronTeam is more than just a training group; it’s a family. Teammates become friends for life, supporting each other through ten months of training. But we don’t just swim, bike, and run. We have plenty of parties, group meals, and team weekends away from the big city. Dedicated IronTeam Honorees help build our connection to the Cause. And, as with all TNT programs, at least 75% of each dollar you fundraise goes directly to cancer research and improving the lives of patients.
Each day of your training is planned by our professional coaching staff. Every step of your journey is supported by a volunteer crew of Mentors and Captains. The comprehensive training schedule includes: Distances, times, locations, strength- and cross-training direction, a series of events exclusive to IronTeam, and scheduled rest. In addition, seasonal training clinics cover nutrition, injury prevention, shoe and equipment selection, and sports psychology.
We’re ready to have you in the family. Are you ready for the ultimate challenge?
Your Next Steps
There are only 50 slots available on the 2008 IronTeam, and both of our Ironman races sell out very quickly, usually on the day the race is held. The earlier you register, the better your chances of acceptance on to IronTeam.
